...and here is some additional information about us...

As the name Legacy Migration Solutions implies, our focus for nearly two decades centers exclusively on the design and creation of reengineering tools for the purpose of transforming complete legacy applications.
From platform migration to language and database transformation, our suite of conversion tools have solved reengineering challenges for a wide spectrum of platform and operating system environments. These projects include significant emphasis on IBM mainframe and AS/400 environments.

We have exceptional experience with COBOL migration services and well seasoned tools designed to reengineer and migrate MVS and DOS environments, CICS, VSAM, DB2, DL1, IMS, IDMS, including IDMS-DC and ADS-O, GENER/OL and UFO. Although the majority of our clients have elected to migrate some combination of these environments to alternative platforms, others have elected to remain in their original environment, eliminating for example DL1/IMS or IDMS in favor of DB2, or GENER/OL in favor of CICS.

Typically our goal is to utilize an extremely high degree of automation to minimize the manual effort in the coding renovation that usually accompanies enterprise wide reengineering and migration projects. In addition to significantly lowering costs, automation also provides superior uniformity of the resulting product. The final benefit of this highly automated transformation and superior uniformity is that resources familiar with the original applications clearly recognize not only their original work, but find the uniformity of the end product to be easily maintained and enhanced.

We strive to minimize operational impact of our projects and take great care to design solutions to allow for transparency to users in order to limit or eliminate client expenditure for user retraining. This has been a major cost savings for a number of our clients, who faced with the alternative of package replacement literally saved millions of dollars in training costs alone.

One of our customers at the end his implementation stated, “... From our end-users' perspective this was a completely invisible upgrade as every screen looks exactly as it did before. So far I've had no comments from them, positive or negative, so I am wondering if they have actually noticed we've done it - a truly successful implementation. ..."
