GenerOL to AS/400 COBOL - GenerOL
to CICS
What we do with the GENER/OL program
Converts programs written in
GENER/OL producing output in native AS/400 COBOL.
Both conversational and pseudo conversational
program structures are supported.
All comments in the original code can
be carried through to the migrated code.
COBOL data-names generated by the utility
are extensions of existing field-names found in the program.
All copybooks are converted and retain
the same identity.
What about the map definition and I/O
Each screen definition is converted
to native AS/400 Data Display Specifications.
PF key feedback, cursor feedback and
positioning, and screen field attributes are converted
to retain the "look and feel" of the original
transaction.
The original screen layouts are preserved,
and the conversion is transparent to the user. No changes
in input method are required.
The migration tool replaces all map
related statements with the equivalent AS/400 statements.
And special GENER/OL functions
Navigation and program-to-program communication
throughout the application is maintained.
The DO WHILE structures are replaced
with PERFORM UNTIL structures.
GENER/OL commands and verbs are
replaced with the appropriate COBOL statements.
